Police hope that samples sent overseas for testing will shed more light in the Kimberly De Leon homicide.

That’s according to Police Commissioner Severin Moncherry who gave the media an update on the status of the police investigation on Thursday.

The murder of 42 year old Kimberly Williams De Leon remains an open case. Williams-De Leon was shot and killed in her home on the evening of October 29th.

A post mortem examination revealed that the mother of two, died due to a single gunshot wound to her head. He husband and senior police officer was brought in and identified as a person of interest but was later released and has since proceeded on 100 days leave. On Thursday the island’s top cop gave an update on the investigation.

No one is in custody for the murder, and Moncherry has pleaded with the general public to come forward with any information that could assist with investigations
