The Deputy Director of the Bordelais Correctional Facility has applauded wardens at the facility who foiled attempts by two AC technicians to smuggle contraband into the prison
The two men were contracted to do some maintenance work at the facility on Monday January 7th.
The men were allowed to drive into the facility and were searched by officers as is customary with visitors to the facility.
Acting on a tip off, the men were searched for a second time. That’s when contraband inclusive of cannabis, mobile phones and accessories were discovered in their possession.
Emron Nicholas and Fabian John, both residents of Marigot were taken down to the Dennery Police Station.
Both men are expected to make another court appearance on March 11th 2019.
The two men were both charged with the possession of controlled drugs and possession of a controlled drug with intent to sell. They were each granted $1000.00bail.
