ONE FOR THE ROAD

Many local contractors are expected to benefit from a 115 million dollar Millennium Highway and West Coast Roads Upgrading Project set to commence next week. On Wednesday January 23, the Department of Infrastructure will officially sign the consultancy agreement to launch the Project.
The 115 million dollar Millennium Highway and West Coast Roads Upgrading Project will deliver a complete rehabilitation of the Millennium Highway, reconstruction of the West Coast roads from Cul De Sac to Soufriere as well as an Island wide Roads Safety Program. The motoring public will be advised on traffic measures
According to Officials the 115 million dollars is not a loan. The work will be done with Grant Funding from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund. Authorities say there are tremendous spin offs for local contractors
The project includes construction of a new Anse La Raye Bridge.
