COURTS OPTICAL HELPING STUDENTS SEE BETTER

COURTS OPTICAL St. Lucia today launched the “Brighter View” initiative, the corporate social responsibility initiative for St. Lucia.  The program is geared at providing free spectacles for students who cannot afford to purchase them. For this year, COURTS OPTICAL will be giving out 250 pairs of eye glasses to students from the age of 5 and 18 years old from schools Islandwide.

In order to ensure that no student in need of eye care is left out, Courts Optical is working along with the Ministry of Education officials who would recommend students with visual difficulty.

The Chief Education Officer Ruffina Charles notes that even at the Courts Reading and Spelling Bee Competitions, students have difficulty in recognizing letters.

The OECS Optical Chain Manager Liana Casimir says the “Brighter View” initiative aims at improving life for the students by improving their eyesight.

Nine students from various schools received their spectacles on Thursday, and according to Courts Optical officials, the Program has made a significant impact on the lives of students and parents across the OECS.
