DISTRICT TWO SCHOOLS HOLD INDEPENDENCE RALLY

Education Officials have put together a program designed to expose students to independence related concepts  to better inform them about St. Lucia’s history and journey toward Independence. On Wednesday the Education District Two organized a rally for the schools under its care to mark the occasion.

13 schools within Education District Two participated in a  rally to mark St. Lucia’s 40 th independence anniversary. The activity included theatrical displays singing and dancing. The Education Office put together a program designed to educate the students on the island’s jounry to Independence

Many of the folk  songs like those by Saint Lucian musician and leader of The Hewanorra Voices of the 1970’s  Joyce Auguste and the late calypsonian Jeff Pelay Elva were cooperated in to the program

Officials say the response by the students has been phenomenal
