A twenty-eight year old male is nursing a gunshot wound to the head after a lone gunman opened fire on him Wednesday evening while he was asleep.
The incident occurred around 11:30 pm at Morne Serpent in Grande Riviere Gros Islet.
The victim has been identified as Robert Stanley, a photographer by profession. Wednesday’s shooting was the second to occur in the area in the span of two days. Stanley’s relatives believe the intended target was a family friend who frequents the home.
Relatives remain adamant that Robert Stanley was not the intended target.
Robert Stanley is a photographer and businessman and is not known to be involved in any illegal activities and certainly none that would cause someone to want him dead.
Stanley was asleep on this sofa when the gunman walked up to this balcony, and fired at least five shots through this window. One of the bullets struck the victim on the left side of his head.
The family is certain that the shooter is no stranger.
His girlfriend believes that the intended target may be someone close to the family who frequents the house.
Robert Stanley underwent surgery Thursday morning to remove the bullet from his head
Relatives are hoping Stanley will pull through and will celebrate his son’s birthday soon.
No arrests have been made as yet, however investigations are continuing.
