CSA Members at the Inland Revenue Department remained on the job on Friday, the last day for filing taxes. It’s also the last day for the government to come up with a plan to relocate employees who have been complaining about air quality issues for over a year. The April 29th date suggested by the government has been rejected by employees who want the matter addressed urgently.
The Inland Revenue Department employees were told they would be relocated by April 29th, 2019, and although the employees think that the situation requires more urgent action, they have remained on the Job but say they will not do so indefinitely. The Assistant General Secretary of the CSA Mac Stephen Aubertin says he hopes to bring the matter to an amicable solution soon.
When the two sides met recently, the discussions were rather heated, and understandably so, says the
Mr. Aubertin says the staff of the IRD are optimistic that the situation will be addressed sooner rather than later.
