A local taxi driver is calling for training for individuals who work directly with tourists.
The call follows an incident on Sunday in which a female visitor was allegedly attacked by a local employed at a tourist attraction.
In the almost four minute long video, a group of visitors and some locals have a heated exchange with the employee over his actions.
According to one of the visitors, the employee slapped the female visitor when she attempted to take a photograph after he instructed her not to.
The video has since been making rounds on social media and according to Mr Albert Phillip, the incident can have a negative impact on the island’s tourism industry. He has joined the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association in calling for training for those in direct contact with visitors.
The incident occurred at the Toraille Waterfall in Soufriere.
