WORLD ARC PARTICIPANTS BACK IN SAINT LUCIA

Seventeen of the yachts which started the world ARC in Rodney Bay 15 months ago, are back here after traveling 26,000 nautical miles.  Following the classic tradewinds route, the rally avoids regions of political instability, piracy and the storm seasons in both hemispheres. Although World ARC is a rally not a race, there is some friendly competition among participants.

The 17 yachts which just completed the World ARC 2018 – 2019 arrived in Grenada three weeks ago and cruised slowly up through the Caribbean Islands to Marigot Bay last week. O Saturday, they made their way up to Rodney Bay to end what they say was a fantastic Journey around the world.

As the World ARC participants enjoyed the warm welcome in Rodney Bay, they had lots to say about their journey around the world.

The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers already has 160 entrants and 75 for the ARC Plus. Many of them are expected to arrive in St. Lucia by December. IGY Marina’s General Manager Sean Deveaux says it is always a wonderful feeling welcoming participants in any of the ARC events.
