NEW FERRY SERVICE BEGINS SERVICING ISLAND

St. Lucians now have one more option when it comes to intra-regional travel options.  A new ferry service has begun serving the island through local agents Superior Shipping. Val Ferry travels to Guadeloupe, Marie Gallant, Martinique, Dominica and St. Lucia.

According to the Sales and Marketing Manager for Superior Shipping here in St. Lucia, Shem Glasgow after traveling between the French territories for a number of years, the operators of Val-Ferry decided to add Saint Lucia to their itinerary

Mr. Glasgow believes the timing is perfect to launch the new ferry service and so expectations are high that locals will embrace the service offered by Val-Ferry.

Round trips to Martinique on Val-Ferry cost as little as $258:00 exclusive of travel insurance which is approximately $33:00. Owners are fine tuning their pricing structure.

With the future of LIAT still uncertain, Mr. Glasgow says consideration is being given to extended services to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and even Barbados.
