St. Lucia’s former UN ambassador Earl Huntley says some of the concern about an influx of Venezuelans to Saint Lucia is unfounded. Prime Minister Allen Chastanet and National Security minister Hermangild Francis recently expressed such fears. Thousands of Venezuelans have been fleeing the crisis torn country in what experts are calling “one of the biggest migration crises in Latin American history”.
The result has been growing anxiety across the region as thousands of Venezuelans have already begun landing on the shores of Trinidad and Tobago. Sharefil Gaillard has more.
