A rebranded business establishment has partnered with a statutory corporation to donate hampers and Beach umbrellas to vendors as part of its corporate social responsibility.
SOVEREIGN WEALTH FUND BILL PASSED; CALLS FOR GREATER TRANSPARENCY
The Sovereign Wealth Fund Bill was tabled and passed in island`s Senate on Tuesday.
However prior to this , Independent Senator Deale Lee highlighted areas of the bill which needed strengthening to ensure transparency and accountability of the investment vehicle.
Its aim is to support investments in climate adaptation, climate mitigation and sustainable economic development.
POLICE WELFARE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT FRUSTRATED WITH OVERTIME PAY NEGOTIATION DELAYS
The President of the Police Welfare Association is expressing frustration over delays in concluding negotiations with the Government Negotiating Team (GNT).
A proposal for paid overtime came as a result of officers working in excess of 80hrs per work week, which surpasses the standard 40 hour period.
PHILLIP J. PIERRE ATTRIBUTES DECLINE IN HOMICIDES TO POLICE ANTI-CRIME MEASURES
Prime Minister and Minister for National Security , Phillip J Pierre, made this announcement on Monday, attributing the decline to the police’s anti-crime measures and his administration’s interventions.
He further states that the government’s policy of providing resources to the police is beginning to bear fruit.
MAN WITH BURNS RECOVERING AFTER FIRE DESTROYS HOME; RESIDENTS LOOK TO REBUILD
One man who suffered burns in a fire that destroyed the home of his niece on Sunday in Riviere Mitan is now recovering, with severe burns to his legs.
In the meantime , the occupants of the structure are looking to rebuild.
HOMICIDE TOLL RISES TO TWELVE AFTER FISHERMAN’S DEATH IN DENNERY ATTACK
The island’s homicide toll has now risen to twelve.
This is following the death of a fisherman who from the community of Praslin, Micoud.
He succumbed to injuries sustained on Friday after being attacked during an altercation at the Dennery Fishing Complex on March 8th.
