The Iyanola Council for the Advancement of Rastafari (ICAR) has marked Emancipation Month with a powerful concert at the National Cultural Centre, celebrating the legacy of Pan-African activist Marcus Mosiah Garvey. The event featured artists and poets delivering conscious performances aimed at uplifting audiences and reinforcing the importance of African identity and history.
A well-known local calypsonian and educator has offered himself for consideration to win the candidacy to contest the Castries South seat.
The individual has confirmed that contrary to information being circulated via social media he is hoping to get the nod to do battle for the opposition United Workers Party and no other political outfit.
Currently , Castries South is being represented in the island`s parliament by Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ernest Hilaire.
