The descendants of some of Britain’s wealthiest slave owners have launched an activist movement, calling on the UK government both to apologize for slavery and to begin a programme of reparative justice in recognition of the ongoing consequences of this crime against humanity. The National Reparations Committee has welcomed the news noting its benefits for the regional reparations movement.
