The family of Daniel Esnard are breathing a sigh of relief after the two men, charged in his stabbing death were convicted. A high court judge on October 6th, 2021 sentenced both Don Ishmael and Leroyson Gilbert to an equal sentence of 208 months for Esnard’s murder. Esnard’s sister however laments that conditions at the Soufriere Hospital, which the family has partly blamed for Esnard’s demise, still have not changed.

Spitting seems to have instigated a brawl at the Bordelais Correctional Facility on Wednesday. Director of Corrections, Hilary Herman, says there will be an investigation into the incident involving officers and inmates which was recorded by one of the prisoners.

The Managing Director of Rayneau Gajadhar Construction and Industrial Ltd is calling on the powers that be to take action against those who blocked the road going to a quarry in Anse La Raye. Former employees of Winfresh(WI) and Sunfresh limited are still awaiting their severance pay more than a year after they were informed that the two subsidiaries of the Winfresh Group were going into liquidation. However one of the liquidators has indicated that this may take some time as the group which was owned by four Windward Island governments including St Lucia has yet to sell off enough assets to get the cash to pay the former workers.
