DISAPPOINTED CANDIDATE GOES INDEPENDENT AFTER UWP MISLEADS ON CANDIDACY
The first of many political skirmishes to mark the start of the island`s silly season has begun with the announcement of an independent candidate to contest the Anse-La-Raye/Canaries seat.
The political aspirant says that he was forced to go the independent route since the opposition United Workers Party , on which ticket he was hoping to do battle ,thwarted his efforts by being misled into believing that he stood a chance to do so.
Mr Elwin St Rose claims that he was encouraged to meet certain conditions in order to qualify for the party`s candidacy despite it already having chosen someone to do battle on its behalf.

WATER COMPANY OFFICIAL: OUTDATED SYSTEMS AND FINANCES HINDER SERVICE DEMAND
A senior official at the Water and Sewerage Company has blamed several issues for the entity`s inability to meet the demands of its thousands of customers.
During a media workshop Thursday he discussed the impact of outdated systems and increasing demand, highlighting the need for upgrades that are hindered by financial constraints.

WORLD KIDNEY DAY 2025
Observed annually on the second Thursday of March, this year`s World Kidney Day is a joint effort of the International Society of Nephrology and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations.
This year, the campaign is held under the theme “Are Your Kidneys OK? Detect Early, Protect Kidney Health”.
This is a call to action for Saint Lucians to take charge of their kidney health as the island continues to grapple with the impact of rising kidney disease cases.

TAIWAN DONATES $725,687.52 EC TO SAINT LUCIA SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT FUND
The Republic of China (Taiwan) has made a significant financial contribution to the programs of the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF). The allocated funds, totalling $725,687.52 EC or ($241,797.49 USD), will be utilized under the Constituency Development Programme (CDP) to support various social initiatives.
