US $5.7M CARICOM FUNDING TO BOOST SAINT LUCIA’S WATER INFRASTRUCTURE

WASCO and the Ministry of Finance have secured US $5.7 million in funding from the CARICOM Development Fund to tackle Saint Lucia’s long-standing water infrastructure challenges.
The investment, announced Thursday, will support two critical projects: the completion of the Patience Water Supply Project in Micoud, and the major rehabilitation of the Theobalds Water Treatment Plant in Castries. Together, the initiatives aim to deliver more reliable water access to over 45,000 residents island-wide — addressing outdated systems and chronic shortages that have plagued communities for years.
