Verlinda Joseph was only thirteen years old when she was raped and murdered.
A post mortem had revealed that the teenager had a broken neck, and was already dead when her attacker poured a chemical substance down her throat.

Residents of the George Charles Boulevard in Marchand are calling for justice after three young men were shot by unknown assailants.
The three shooting victims have been identified by Police as 27 year old Shervon Ramsey, 17 year old Aldrick Alexander Aka Play and 18 year old Osazie Charles Aka Shatta.

The 2011 US State Department Human Rights report on Saint Lucia, has cited reports of unlawful Police killings as the island’s most serious human rights problem.
It has also called attention to alleged abuse of suspects and prisoners by the Police, and long delays in trials and sentencing.
The report was issued today, after the Saint Lucia government earlier this year confirmed that a high ranking Police Officer had his US visa revoked.
