FRC LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER NATIONAL CREOLE SPELLING BEE WITH PRIZES INCLUDING TICKETS TO MARTINIQUE

Saint Lucia’s Independence celebration is getting a creole twist. This February 17th, the Msgr. Patrick Anthony Folk Research Centre is trading quiet archives for spelling buzzers, launching the nation’s first-ever Fèt Matjé Kwéyòl. Prizes include cash, tickets to Martinique and more all in efforts to promote creole speaking as well as creole writing.
