Saint Lucia’s homicide toll has surged to 59 following a bloody weekend in Dennery where two men were gunned down in separate incidents just hours apart. The spike in deadly violence has triggered renewed calls from residents for an end to the bloodshed — and prompted Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre to announce a fresh round of anti-crime measures, including new police equipment, facilities, and the training of beach rangers.
