Minister for Broadcasting, Ernest Hilaire has announced the imminent return of Radio Saint Lucia albeit in a different format. As one of its election manifesto promises the Saint Lucia Labour Party had pledged to reopen the station, which was closed by the former United Workers Party administration. A former employee of the radio station Oliver Lawrence, who has been advocating for the reopening of the station is elated to hear of its planned return to the airwaves. The closure of the station he says left a void which no other radio station on island could have filled.
