Saint Lucia has taken a bold step toward a more climate-resilient future with the official launch of its Climate Finance Unit (CFU) on September 17th. The new unit was created in response to growing demands for disaster mitigation and adaptation in the face of intensifying climate change.
The Government of Saint Lucia, working in partnership with regional and international stakeholders, has established the CFU to mobilize funding, coordinate access to resources, and monitor and report on climate finance. These funds will support priority projects to strengthen climate resilience, expand renewable energy and energy efficiency, and promote sustainable agriculture.
