WASCO SOUNDS THE ALARM AS DRY SPELL WORSENS AND DAM LEVELS DROP.

For consumers across the island, the tap is running a little drier today. With the ongoing dry spell projected to worsen, the Water and Sewage Company is sounding the alarm, urging households to immediately increase their water storage capacity. At a press conference on Wednesday, officials revealed that water levels at the critical John Compton Dam are tracking lower than last year—a small difference on paper, but a significant threat to supply. While WASCO trucks water to domestic homes, they warn that commercial customers cannot rely on the same service as the company struggles to manage a resource that is being steadily depleted by climate change.
