MINISTER HENRY REASSURES CITIZENS AMID SOCIAL SECTOR BUDGET CUTS
Despite a slight decrease in the overall budget allocation for the social sector, Minister for Equity, Social Justice, and Empowerment Joachim Henry is assuring citizens that there’s still more than enough to meet the nation’s social needs. The minister highlighted strategic increases in key areas, including public assistance and grants, aimed at supporting vulnerable groups and strengthening social safety nets.

This initiative forms part of the Red Cross’ ongoing commitment to addressing critical gaps in the local healthcare sector, which the organization’s president, Hubert Pierre, has described as facing a growing crisis.
NEW PARTY ON THE HORIZON
Bain Nathaniel, aka The Golden Dragon, has announced plans to launch a new political party, The People’s National Movement, for the upcoming general elections. Nathaniel says he already has nine male candidates and aims to recruit at least five women, while criticizing the performance of the SLP and Opposition Leader Allen Chastanet during a recent appearance on News Maker Live
