Saint Lucia is taking a major step toward protecting its coastline and preparing for the impacts of climate change. The country has officially received a new coastal climate risk assessment and decision-support system designed to strengthen national planning, guide infrastructure development, and improve disaster preparedness.
Developed under the National Adaptation Planning (NAP) Green Climate Fund Readiness Project, the Shore Sight Decision-Support System provides government agencies with advanced mapping and climate data tools to better respond to sea-level rise, coastal erosion, storm surges, flooding, and other climate-related threats affecting communities and critical infrastructure.
