From page to performance, and from poetry to powerful personal expression — the legacy of Saint Lucia’s Nobel Laureate Sir Derek Walcott came alive today as young creatives transformed his iconic poem Love After Love into music, movement, imagery and voice. The Cultural Development Foundation hosted the Walcott Expressions Competition prize-giving ceremony, celebrating bold reinterpretations of Walcott’s work and proving that decades later, his words are still inspiring new generations of Saint Lucian artists.

The Cultural Development Foundation is gearing up for its annual Icon Series event as part of the Arts & the City calendar, and this year, Edward [Chef Harry] Joseph will be honoured for his lasting contributions to the island’s culinary arts and fashion.
Patrons are invited to immerse themselves in a two-day celebration on April 24th and 25th, showcasing Chef Harry’s culinary talent, fashion couture, and passion for music. The event forms part of the Arts & the City component of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.
