Francis: Marius Wilson Conviction , Sad Situation
The Coordinator of the National Centre for Legal Aid and Human Rights is saddened by this week`s sentencing of Attorney-at-Law Marius Wilson to five years in prison for discharging his firearm in public and injuring a male individual. The incident occurred in 2012. Mary Francis hopes that he can recover from this situation.

A Concerned Citizen is disappointed that with the exception of Coordinator of the National Centre for Legal Aid and Human Rights , moral support from the legal fraternity for Attorney At law Marius Wilson , following his conviction for causing injury to a male in individual after discharging his firearm in public, has not been forthcoming.
Home Affairs Minister Responds to Gun Violence in the South
Home Affairs Minister Dr. Virginia Albert-Poyotte is weighing in on the current spate of violence on the island. Her comments come on the heels of a visit by high ranking officials of the RSLPF to the south of the island on Monday. Vieux-Fort feuding gangs over the weekend indiscriminately and intermittently fired hundreds of gunshots as a show of defiance against each other.
One young male was also fatally shot in a separate incident.

A relative of the island`s latest murder victim has vowed to avenge his death.
The videographer was in his 20`s.His distraught father says the incident comes as a shock. So far for this year ,the island has recorded fifty-nine homicides.
