A major transformation is on the horizon for Saint Lucia’s Road network, as government moves ahead with plans to modernize the Sir Julian R. Hunte Highway into a safer, more efficient four-lane corridor designed to ease traffic congestion between Gros Islet and Castries.
Infrastructure Minister Shawn Edward says the multi-stage project will feature pedestrian walkways, roundabouts, and a concrete median barrier aimed at preventing dangerous overtaking and improving overall road safety and traffic flow across the island’s busiest route.
