For many Saint Lucians, waiting years for a court matter to be resolved can mean living with uncertainty, frustration and, in some cases, lives being put on hold. The government is now looking to speed up the delivery of justice through changes to the criminal justice system, including a new Plea Bargaining Bill. Minister for Home Affairs and Crime Prevention Jeremiah Norbert says the measure is intended to make the legal process more efficient and ensure both victims and accused persons are treated fairly and with dignity.
