As Saint Lucia observes Cervical Cancer Awareness Month this January, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Nutrition is calling for urgent action to end cervical cancer as a public health problem. The Ministry emphasizes that elimination is achievable through timely vaccination, screening, and treatment, aligning with global 2030 targets: 90% of girls vaccinated against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) by age 15, 70% of women screened with a high-performance test by ages 35 and 45, and 90% of women diagnosed receiving appropriate care.
