Stress doesn’t wait for an appointment — so neither did the Community Mental Health Team. In Soufriere, on a regular market day, shoppers, farmers, and vendors got more than fresh produce. They got blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, and something even harder to find: a conversation about mental health. This pop up health fair — part of Stress Awareness Month — didn’t need a clinic or a waiting room. It met people right where they already were, under the market shed, with a simple message: be the change, and start by checking in on yourself.
