GLOBAL CALL FOR STRONGER ACTION AS TALKS ON PLASTICS TREATY GAIN MOMENTUM.

More than 230 civil society and rights organizations are calling for more to be done in order to achieve a truly ambitious treaty to rid the world environment of plastics. The sentiment comes even as 95 countries signed a declaration titled, the Nice Wake Up Call as a precursor to talks on a global Plastics Treaty later this year. The issue has dominated discussions at the third United Nations Ocean Conference in France, along with the Caribbean’s plight with the sargassum seaweed.
