African pride, cultural awareness, and empowerment will be the focus this weekend as the Iyanola Council for the Advancement of Rastafari, ICAR, prepares to host its African Liberation Day Fair in Vieux Fort.
The organization will host the event on Saturday, May 30th, at the Vieux Fort Square from 4 p.m., as part of ongoing efforts to uplift African identity and promote greater awareness of Black history. ICAR is calling for increased sensitization surrounding African heritage, noting that education on Black history can empower citizens and help break centuries-old stigmas.
Government ministers, private sector stakeholders, and members of the Rastafari community are all expected to participate as the organization seeks to raise consciousness and encourage citizens to embrace the truth of African history.
