Mounting public outrage over the murder of 24-year-old Joy St. Omer has prompted police to release a detailed timeline of the events leading up to her death — including how her estranged husband, previously remanded on assault charges, was granted bail just weeks before the tragedy.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s Major Crimes Unit says the disclosure is intended to address growing public concern surrounding the handling of the case, as investigators continue probing the circumstances that led to St. Omer’s murder.
Her estranged husband, 34-year-old Primus Toussaint, is now back in custody and formally charged with murder.
