Company Heads Fail to Show Up for Labour Dept Meeting, Angers TUF

The Trade Union Federation is upset over what it describes as blatant disrespect being displayed by North American Assemblies for the Labour Department. Company representatives failed to show up for a meeting with officials of the TUF and the workers to discuss the recent firing of several employees for failing to be vaccinated against COVID 19.
The meeting was scheduled to take place this morning.
The Union says it will not rest until the matter is settled. This includes seeking redress through the courts.

Roaming Visitors Sparks Anger Among Locals

Videos circulating on social media over the weekend showing tourists sightseeing and also at the beach , have stirred the ire of some locals who have pointed out a disparity between the allowances for visitors and locals.
The Ministry of Tourism on Sunday issued a statement in response to the videos explaining the cruise tourism operation had been authorized.
Sunday was a no movement day in St Lucia , as part of measures to prevent interaction among people from different households and communities to reduce the spread of COVID 19.
