Castries East Launches Disaster Preparedness Initiative Ahead Of 2025 Hurricane Season

The Castries East District Disaster Management Committee, in partnership with NEMO and other stakeholders, has launched a new project aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness in the Castries East constituency. This initiative follows a series of training sessions conducted in 2023 with the Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF), focusing on disaster mitigation strategies. The primary goal of the committee is to enhance residents’ survival chances in the event of a natural disaster.

Father Demands Answers In Brutal Cutlass Attack

The father of the five-year-old victim in last Friday’s brutal cutlass attack in Industry, Choiseul, is calling for swift justice. Shane Labadie, deeply hurt and frustrated, is seeking answers from the police after his son, along with other family members, was injured in the violent assault. The police have assured that they are actively working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
