Minister for Persons with Disabilities, Jeremiah Norbert, has strongly condemned the mockery of individuals with disabilities following remarks by Housing Minister Richard Frederick. Frederick, in an ongoing war of words with UWP Deputy Leader Dominic Fedee, referred to him as someone “fighting autism and dwarfism.” Norbert insists there is no place for such ridicule and reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to protecting the dignity of persons with disabilities.

The President of the Gros Islet Minibus Drivers Association is addressing growing public frustration over congestion at the Gros Islet bus stop, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours. Commuters have voiced concerns over long wait times and overcrowding, but the association is urging the public to show empathy as they work on solutions.

Twelve new mothers who gave birth during the Christmas and New Year holidays received unexpected visitors bearing gifts at their doorsteps. Peter & Company Distribution (PCD) turned their annual Parenthood Loyalty Programme into a personal home delivery service, bringing premium care packages to ten Christmas Day and two New Year’s Day mothers across Saint Lucia.

The Iyanola Council for the Advancement of Rastafari (ICAR) continued its African history education series at Corinth Secondary School on Tuesday, in observance of Black History Month. The initiative, aimed at raising awareness of African heritage, is part of ICAR’s ongoing effort to deepen students’ understanding of African culture and history throughout February.

Three of the four victims of the Industry Choiseul chopping incident are home recovering, while one remains hospitalized. Two men have been charged with attempted murder, but family member Shane Labadie insists justice must be swift and severe. He says the victims, including his five-year-old son, endured unimaginable suffering as the family begins the healing process.
