Seamoss Entrepreneur Eyes Expansion with Regional MSME Grant Support

A local seamoss entrepreneur is looking to expand his business with support from a new regional MSME grant program. Brian Walker, owner of Moss Solutions, currently exports seamoss to the U.S. and Canada but faces challenges growing further. The Unleashing the Blue Economy of the Caribbean (UBEC) initiative offers grants of up to $200,000 USD to boost small businesses in fisheries, marine tourism, and waste management.

Labour Dispute at HIA Resolved; IATA Recommendations Under Consideration

The Department of Labour has resolved a long standing industrial dispute that triggered protest action at the Hewanorra International Airport earlier this month. A sick out by employees of Goddard Catering Group involved in airline operations affected services at HIA and prompted a reaction from the International Air Transport Association, IATA. As we hear in this report, with the dispute resolved, Infrastructure Minister, Stephenson King is considering implementing recommendations by IATA to avoid recurrence.
