PM Pierre Attends CARICOM Summit On Regional Growth

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre is attending the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), in Barbados. Convened under the theme “Strength in Unity: Forging Caribbean Resilience, Inclusive Growth, and Sustainable Development,” the Meeting is addressing some of the critical issues confronting the region with many Leaders expecting a clear direction on freedom of movement and food security.

Efforts Intensify To Protect Saint Lucia’s National Parrot

The Ministry of Agriculture has recently highlighted its ongoing efforts to protect Saint Lucia’s indigenous bird, the Amazona versicolor, also known as the Saint Lucian Parrot. This species has faced significant threats in recent years, largely due to climate change. Minister for Agriculture, Alfred Prospère, spoke about the crucial steps the ministry is taking to safeguard the parrot’s population, which has been steadily declining.

Health Ministry Joins Independence Baton Relay

Health officials and Ministry of Health team members proudly took part in the Independence Baton Relay on February 18, marching through Castries to celebrate national pride and unity. The relay, a key highlight of Saint Lucia’s Independence celebrations, saw the Ministry’s representatives carry the baton from the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception to William Peter Boulevard before passing it on to the next team.
