CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is ramping up efforts to clear bus stops of illegal vendors and remove derelict vehicles from roadsides.
Starting next week, vendors operating in bus shelters risk arrest, while vehicle owners must comply with removal orders.
The initiative is part of a wider push to improve safety, accessibility, and crime prevention across the island.

ALL HANDS ON DECK

Civic group, Citizens for Peace and Prosperity , continues with its efforts to engender peace and prosperity in Saint Lucia.
While the group along other partners has been able to achieve relative peace in the south, Chair of the organization, SLHTA CEO Noorani Azeez however points out addressing the island’s crime problem is not a quick fix.

DO THE RIGHT THING

Students of the Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School got a hands-on lesson in environmental responsibility ,as the Castries East District Disaster Management Committee, alongside NEMO and the Solid Waste Management Authority sought to highlight the dangers of improper waste disposal.
Through real-life examples, quizzes, and interactive games, the initiative aimed to drive home the importance of keeping communities clean and reducing disaster risks.

Women’s football in Saint Lucia got a major boost as the Saint Lucia Football Association, alongside the Women’s National Task Force, hosted a special tournament in Choiseul to mark International Women’s Day. The initiative aimed to encourage young girls to get involved in the sport while highlighting the opportunities it can provide. Miriam Montoute has more.
