Former Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has stood by his administration’s decision to join the LIMA group, the US-backed organization of Caribbean and Latin-American states which supported Juan Guaidó, as the legitimate leader of Venezuela in opposition to Nicolás Maduro. The former prime minister has drawn a line of distinction between the UWP’s foreign policies and that of the SLP’s stating that the UWP will always support the west.
