U.S. EXPANDS VISA RESTRICTIONS ON CUBA OVER ALLEGED FORCED LABOR IN MEDICAL MISSIONS

The United States has expanded its visa restrictions targeting Cuba, focusing on allegations of forced labor linked to the island’s labor export program, especially within overseas medical missions. Earl Bousquet, Founding Member of the St. Lucia Cuba Friendship Association, has strongly condemned the
move, calling it reprehensible. Bousquet argues that Cuba’s long-standing commitment to providing free medical aid, particularly in countries like Saint Lucia, should not be undermined.
